Dave Younggren, Chairman of CCHAP Board
Former CFO of Gary-Williams Energy and current President of the Piton Foundation and Gary Community Investment Company. Dave brings expertise in business administration and finance, and has been involved in early childhood education and health for decades. Representative to the Colorado Forum. Dave has been Board Chair for other non-profits that serve the needs of children.
Jay Markson, MD
Senior partner in Children’s Medical Center, a private pediatric practice in central Denver that has served publicly insured children longer than any other practice in Colorado and has implemented many programs to improve outcomes for children on Medicaid and CHP+.
Tom Peterson, MD, FAAP
Vice President and Chief Safety Officer for SCL Health in Denver. Tom is a pediatrician who has worked in community health promotion and wellness efforts for the past 30 years. He led the development and program implementation for the Children’s Healthcare Access Program (CHAP) in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2009, and provided clinical oversight as the Medical Director. The program was modeled after the CCHAP program in Colorado.
Katherine Price, MD, FAAP
Pediatrician at Western Colorado Pediatric Associates in Grand Junction, a large pediatric practice in western Colorado dedicated to caring for all children in the community, including children on Medicaid and CHP+. Katie’s interests and experience include finding ways to use Health Information Technology to improve the delivery of healthcare to children, and supporting and spreading the concept of the medical home model.
John “Chip” Southern, MBA
Practice Administrator, Greenwood Pediatrics. Chip has an MBA/MHA from the University of Colorado and oversees contracting, HR, finance, and strategic planning for a large, 3 location pediatric group in the south metro Denver area.
Ayelet Talmi, PhD
Clinical Director, Project CLIMB (Consultation & Liaison in Mental Health and Behavior), Children’s Hospital Colorado. Associate Director, Irving Harris Program in Child Development and Infant Mental Health, University of Colorado Denver. Expert in early childhood mental health. Ayelet trains mental health professionals to work in primary care medical settings.
James Todd, MD
Chief of Pediatric Epidemiology at University of Colorado Denver Health Science Center and member of the faculty of the Colorado School of Public Health. Jim’s division produces the Annual State of the Health of Colorado’s Children Report. Jim is an expert in health care quality and evaluation.
MaryAnn Whiteside, JD
Attorney with experience as the Chief Operations Officer, Colorado Department of Labor and Employment and Division Director of Colorado Division of Workers Compensation. MaryAnn’s expertise is administrative law, governmental law and health care law.
